We do not store full payment-card details or CVV information in J&M paper or general office systems.
To set up and administer the membership; schedule and deliver maintenance visits and boiler servicing; communicate about appointments and changes; collect and reconcile payments; provide customer support; handle complaints and cancellations; maintain accounting, tax, safety and legal records; protect staff, customers and the business; and improve the service using proportionate operational records.
Depending on the activity, J&M expects to rely mainly on performance of the membership contract, compliance with legal obligations, and legitimate interests such as running a safe and efficient service, preventing misuse and keeping appropriate business records. Consent is used where required, including for optional electronic marketing where another lawful route does not apply.
Appropriate J&M staff and tradespeople; Stripe and other payment processors; accountants and bookkeepers; IT, CRM, email, scheduling and hosting providers; professional advisers; insurers; regulators or authorities where legally required; and specialist subcontractors where necessary to deliver an agreed service. J&M only shares what is necessary for the purpose.
If any service provider stores or accesses personal data outside the UK, J&M will confirm that an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism and safeguards are in place.
J&M will keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal, tax, accounting, insurance and dispute requirements. J&M maintains a retention schedule for membership records, financial records, complaints, service records and marketing preferences.
J&M uses proportionate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including access controls, secure devices and accounts, and appropriate supplier arrangements. Payment credentials are handled by Stripe rather than copied into general business records.
Depending on the circumstances, data-protection law may give you rights to access your information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion or restriction, object to certain processing, receive certain information in a portable format, and withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis. These rights can be subject to legal limits.
Service messages about your membership are separate from marketing. Where J&M asks for marketing consent, saying no will not affect your HomeCare membership. You can opt out of marketing at any time.
Please contact J&M first so we can try to resolve your concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) about the use of your personal information.
J&M may update this notice where its services, systems or legal obligations change. Material changes affecting members will be brought to their attention in an appropriate way.
These Terms & Conditions apply to J&M HomeCare supplied by J&M Multi Trades Ltd ("J&M", "we", "us"). They form part of the contract together with the Pre-Contract Information, accepted Sign-Up Form and any written service-specific information we provide.
HomeCare is a scheduled residential maintenance service. It is not sold as insurance, a home-emergency insurance product or a warranty that transfers to J&M the financial risk of future breakdowns. The core service is periodic maintenance labour whether or not a breakdown has occurred.
The monthly price including VAT is shown for the selected Bronze, Silver or Gold tier and the selected 6- or 12-month minimum term. Payments are collected monthly using the recurring Stripe payment arrangement set up separately. We will not collect or store a customer's full card number or CVV on the HomeCare sign-up form.
The customer chooses an initial minimum term of 6 or 12 months. After that minimum term the membership continues monthly unless ended in accordance with these terms. The customer may give 30 days' notice during the final month of the selected minimum term so membership ends at that term's end. We will not require the customer to wait until after the minimum term before serving notice.
Bronze includes up to six 60-minute visits during a 12-month minimum term or three during a 6-month minimum term. Silver includes up to nine 75-minute visits during 12 months or four during 6 months. Gold includes up to twelve 90-minute visits during 12 months or six during 6 months. Each allowance is a maximum time allocation, not a guarantee that a particular task can be completed within it.
A maximum of one included visit may be used in a membership month. Bronze customers select and schedule the months in which their visits will take place; Silver and Gold visits are also booked in advance. An unused visit does not accumulate beyond the selected minimum term, cannot be transferred to another household and has no cash or credit value. J&M will act reasonably where it has to rearrange an appointment.
HomeCare is intended for small maintenance tasks such as minor adjustments, small plumbing repairs, minor joinery, hanging shelves or mirrors, replacement of suitable fittings, minor sealant work and minor electrical tasks where appropriate. Suitable seasonal help may include assembling a customer-supplied Christmas tree and putting up customer-supplied lights or other decorations within the visit time. Exterior work, electrical connections, fragile or unusually heavy items and any task involving height or specialist access remain subject to assessment and may be declined or quoted separately. Examples do not create an obligation to perform unsafe or unsuitable work.
Gas work will only be performed by a suitably qualified Gas Safe registered engineer. Electrical and other regulated work will only be undertaken by an appropriately competent person and may require testing, certification, additional attendance or a separate quotation. J&M may rearrange a task to a suitable trade rather than complete it during the first attendance.
Unless we expressly state otherwise, materials, parts and specialist equipment are not included in the monthly fee. We will explain material or additional labour charges and obtain the customer's agreement before incurring a significant charge. Customer-supplied items may be used only where J&M considers them suitable and safe.
Bronze does not include a boiler service. Silver and Gold include one standard service for an eligible domestic gas boiler during the selected initial minimum term; after that, continued membership includes no more than one such service in each subsequent 12-month period. It must be carried out by a suitably qualified Gas Safe engineer. The benefit has no cash alternative and excludes repairs, parts, system flushing, additional appliances, pre-existing faults and work required to make an unsafe installation compliant.
HomeCare visits are booked in advance, limited to one included visit in any membership month and subject to reasonable availability and J&M operating hours. We do not guarantee a particular tradesperson, day or time. If J&M needs to rearrange because of illness, emergency work, severe weather, vehicle failure or another event outside reasonable control, we will offer a replacement appointment as soon as reasonably practicable.
Customers should give at least 24 hours' notice where reasonably possible if they need to rearrange a scheduled visit. Where reasonable notice is given, J&M will try to rearrange within the same membership month subject to availability. If we attend at an agreed time but cannot gain access and no reasonable prior notice was given, that month's allowance may be treated as used, but J&M will act reasonably and consider the circumstances.
The customer must provide safe and reasonable access to the property and work area and disclose known hazards. Children and pets should be kept away from the immediate work area where appropriate. We may stop or decline work where conditions are unsafe.
We may decline work that is unsafe, unlawful, structural, a substantial renovation, reasonably expected to exceed the HomeCare scope, requires specialist access or equipment, requires permissions not in place, or is unsuitable for the attending trade. Larger projects are quoted separately.
HomeCare is not a 24/7 emergency or breakdown service and does not guarantee immediate attendance. If J&M separately offers urgent or emergency attendance, it may be chargeable and will be treated as a separate service unless expressly included in writing.
Membership does not make J&M responsible for pre-existing faults, latent defects, deterioration, defective previous work or building conditions that J&M did not cause. If such issues are identified we will explain them and, where appropriate, offer a separate quotation.
J&M will provide services with reasonable care and skill and will comply with applicable legal obligations. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts statutory consumer rights or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Where the contract is a distance or off-premises contract and statutory cancellation rights apply, the customer will normally have 14 days from entering the service contract to cancel without giving a reason. J&M will provide cancellation information and a model cancellation form. The customer is not required to use the model form; any clear cancellation statement is sufficient.
J&M will not begin chargeable services during an applicable statutory cooling-off period unless the customer requests early performance where required. If the customer makes that request and later cancels within the cooling-off period, J&M may charge a proportionate amount for services supplied up to cancellation where the law permits.
Subject to statutory rights, the customer is expected to maintain payments during the selected initial 6- or 12-month term. Contractual notice may be given during the final month to end at the end of that term. After the initial term, the customer may cancel on 30 days' notice by email to janine@jandmmultitrades.co.uk, telephone or WhatsApp to 07949 511232, post or any online route J&M makes available. J&M will acknowledge electronic cancellation and confirm the end date.
Membership applies to one registered residential property. If the customer permanently moves, sells the property or experiences another significant change that makes continued membership impractical, they should contact J&M. We will act reasonably and consider transfer or early termination where appropriate, without limiting statutory rights.
If a payment fails, J&M will contact the customer and give a reasonable opportunity to bring the account up to date. Scheduled membership visits may be suspended while payment remains overdue. Persistent non-payment may lead to termination after reasonable notice. Amounts properly due for services already supplied remain payable.
J&M may change the membership price after the initial term where reasonably necessary, for example because of labour, operating, taxation or service-cost changes. We will give reasonable advance notice. A change will not retrospectively alter sums already paid, and customers will be told how to cancel before a new price takes effect where appropriate.
We may make reasonable operational changes that do not materially reduce the core paid benefit. We will give reasonable notice of material changes and will not use a variation clause to impose an unfair or unexpected disadvantage.
HomeCare is for normal residential maintenance. It must not be used to obtain commercial work, property-development labour or a substantial project by dividing it into small monthly tasks. We will discuss any concern before deciding that a request falls outside the membership.
J&M may end membership for a legitimate reason, including serious or persistent non-payment, abusive or threatening behaviour, unsafe working conditions, deliberate misuse or circumstances making continued service impracticable. Except where immediate action is reasonably necessary for safety or serious misconduct, we will give reasonable notice and deal fairly with any payment for services not supplied.
Customers should contact J&M promptly if they believe there is a problem with HomeCare work. We will investigate and, where legally appropriate, repeat or remedy the service, reduce the price or provide another remedy required by consumer law. Complaint contact: janine@jandmmultitrades.co.uk or 07949 511232.
We will handle personal information in accordance with applicable UK data-protection law and the HomeCare Privacy Notice. Service-administration communications are separate from optional marketing.
Neither party is responsible for delay caused by an event genuinely outside reasonable control to the extent permitted by law. J&M will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and rearrange affected services.
J&M may use appropriately qualified employees or subcontractors to deliver parts of the service. J&M remains responsible for performing its contractual obligations to the extent required by law. The customer may not transfer membership to another person or property without J&M agreement.
The contract consists of these terms, the Pre-Contract Information, the accepted Sign-Up Form and any later written variation agreed by both parties. Nothing in this clause limits rights arising from statements that consumer law treats as binding.
These terms are governed by Scots law. A consumer retains any mandatory rights about where proceedings may be brought.

As at 1 September 2026, the specific subscription-contract regime in Chapter 2 of Part 4 of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 is expected to commence in Spring 2027. J&M intends to design HomeCare so it can be adapted for the forthcoming requirements, including prominent pre-contract information, reminder notices, straightforward cancellation and applicable renewal cooling-off rights. Before the regime commences, J&M will obtain legal advice and update its sign-up, reminder, renewal and cancellation processes to the final regulations and guidance then in force.
